SUMMARY:Opportunity to apply for the Fogarty Global Health Fellowship August – October 2022
DESCRIPTION:MHIRST together with NCD-BRITE\, WARM HEART and SHARP projects are collaborating on a phased career development and grant-writing workshop. The workshop begins with a virtual session and small group meeting in August 2022 followed by in-person retreats in September and October 2022 respectively. The workshop aims at mentoring prospective applicants for the Fogarty Global Health Fellowship (FGHF) grant from the proposal development stage to final submission in November 2022. Interested persons are encouraged to apply by the 12th of July 2022; an application form is available upon request from the mhirstcoordinator@medcol.mw or tphanga@unclilongwe.org

SUMMARY:The First KUHeS Research Dissemination Conference
DESCRIPTION:The Kamuzu University of Health Sciences held its first ever research dissemination conference in 2022 ever since the delinking of the College of Medicine from the University of Malawi. The MHIRST project saw with it so many wins as a number of its fellows and trainees presented and disseminated their research work at the event.

DESCRIPTION:The goal of the research dissemination conference is to give our trainees and fellows an opportunity to disseminate their research findings to a wider audience (KUHeS RDC) or to each other for mentoring and collaboration purposes (MHIRST RDC). Trainees can submit abstracts which are accepted for either poster or oral presentations in preparation for publication of their work.
